At Christian Aid we believe in equality, justice and basic human rights. Every event you get involved in raises money for the world’s poorest people. Whether you raise five pounds or five hundred pounds, every penny of it counts.
At Christian Aid our essential purpose is to:
to expose the scandal of poverty
to help in practical ways to root it out from the world
to challenge and change structures and systems that favour the rich and powerful over the poor and marginalised.
What happens to the money I raise?
One of the most fantastic things about raising money for Christian Aid is knowing that such a small amount can make such a big difference.
The money you raise goes towards our work in the developing world, it might be sent to a partner who needs to supply food to Burmese refugees; or are setting up a project to supply solar power to people in Malawi; or it might go straight to the point of a humanitarian emergency.
So when I register for a fundraising event with Christian Aid, what happens next?
As soon as you click ‘register’ for your event, our enthusiastic and experienced events fundraising team will be here to support you.
Within days you’ll receive a fundraising pack full of goodies to help you along every step of the way through your letterbox, you'll even get a quick phonecall to touch base and introduce ourselves!
You then get as little or as much contact as you need. We love knowing what you’re up to and how you’re getting on and are always at the end of the phone or email when you need us.
What if I want to create my own fundraising event?
We love you coming up with your own fundraising events, getting creative and doing something a bit out of the ordinary.
Even if its not one of our specific events we will still support you in any way we can – just make sure you let us know what you’re up, it might give us inspiration too!
