Introducing our Events Fundraising Team

Kerry Packman – Head of Events Fundraising Team

Kerry PackmanAt the helm of a growing team specialising in a range of different fundraising events my time is filled with organizing, supporting and guiding my team’s enthusiasm and adventures. An avid runner (NOT), I have successfully completed the London marathon and the Great North Run and this year I am hanging up my trainers and getting on my bike to cycle to Paris!

Laura Mendes – Events Fundraising Assistant

Laura MendesI am the newest addition to the Events Fundraising Team and very much looking forward to getting involved. I provide support to the whole team and fundraisers alike as well as keeping the head of the team in check. When I am not working I enjoy skiing, granola and crosswords.

Alison Gregory – National & Challenge Events Manager

Alison GregoryI am the longest standing member of the Events Fundraising Team. I oversee our national events programme as well as our Team Poverty challenges. You might have seen me cycling to 300 miles to Paris or more recently in December to Copenhagen? I once tried to recruit Peter Andre to the London to Paris bike ride – in the end; he just donated £10 to Christian Aid!

Emma-Louise - National Events Fundraising Officer

Emma-LouiseI joined Christian Aid in October 2009 and I look after The Super Soup Lunch, The Big Christmas Sing and Quizaid. But when I’m not causing a stir in the kitchen or swatting up on quiz trivia, I have completed Great North Run and a few 10K’s. I like to think that these challenges justify me to be able to sample the delights of one of my other great loves – cooking and eating!

Libby Gordon – Challenge Events Fundraising Officer

Libby GordonI look after all the runs, bike rides and treks here at Christian Aid. I am the resident Antipodean of the team, from New Zealand. This year I am really looking forward to the London to Paris Bike Ride and am in the process of learning how to ride with clip in shoes! Outside of work I enjoy playing many sports, travelling and volunteering.

Richard Moody – Regional Events Manager

Richard MoodyHaving worked as a fundraiser for the last 12 years, I have come to realise what an unequal world we live in. I love my music, guitar, summer festivals and classic cars (I have a little green Beetle!). Whilst I can enjoy all these things, many people in the world live hand to mouth with little security for their future. I love events fundraising as people can challenge themselves, and at the same time challenge poverty head-on!

Helen Burgess - Events Fundraising Officer - South West England

Helen BurgessI’m a Mr Whippy loving; flip flop wearing kind of girl so being based within skipping distance of the beach at Exmouth as the Events Fundraiser for the South West suits me perfectly! By far the most thing that inspires me most was my trip to India where I spent time with ground level teams in Mumbai’s slums.

Hannah Dawe - Events Fundraising Officer – North England

Hannah DaweI am lucky enough to have a huge range of fundraising events in my region, from the challenging Great North Run to the wacky Haxby Scarecrow Festival. I’ve taken part in lots myself, including the London to Paris Bike Ride – if I can do it, anyone can! Outside of work you will find me playing netball, cheering Rugby League and singing at my local church.

Cat Goldson – Events Fundraising Officer – South East England

Cat GoldsonI started as a "gapper" at Christian Aid and was fortunate enough to visit some incredible and inspiring Christian Aid projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This year I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon. I'm a bit scared as it will be my first ever half marathon! Outside of work I’m a real foodie, I love cooking, watching Masterchef and eating yummy food!

Vicki Simpson – Events Fundraising Officer – Central England

Vicki SimpsonI joined Christian Aid in April so I’m fresh faced and raring to go! Whether it’s a walk, coffee morning, bike ride, quiz or lunch, I’m up for anything in the name of charity. I’ll be travelling around visiting everyone in the East and West Midlands and East Anglia; I can’t wait to see all of the great things that are being planned for 2010.

Amy Corcoran – Events Fundraising Officer – Scotland

Amy CorcoranI am Amy ‘Ace’ Corcoran, who loves a cosy bed and Tunnocks tea cakes. My favourite thing to do is smile and laugh and I love to meet new people. As an Event Fundraising Officer at Christian Aid I love to create great fundraising events that people love and have fun at, making them want to give lots of money to help fight poverty!
