Join us for a walk in the UK and help us fight poverty step by step.

Newton Abbot racecourse walk In 2011 our sponsored walks raised over £147,000 for our work. Hundreds of people walked thousands of miles between them to fight poverty. Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to raising this fantastic total which will make a significant impact to communities living in poverty.

South West

Newton Abbot Sponsored Walk

Saturday 12 May

In its 44th year, this annual sponsored walk is a great day out for the whole family. Hundreds of people come together to walk up to 10km around the Newton Abbot Racecourse, while also enjoying live music, food and stalls.

Bournemouth and Poole Sponsored Walk

Saturday 12 May

This brisk annual walk takes you from Shore Road to Southbourne and back along the breezy seafront. The complete walk is 12 miles but turnaround at any checkpoint to complete whatever distance you can manage.

Bishop's Waltham Deanery Sponsored Walk

Sunday 13 May

Enjoy an afternoon in the beautiful Hampshire countryside and choose to walk the five mile route, 10 mile route or the family route (30 minutes).

Chippenham Sponsored Walk

Saturday 21 April- REGISTRATION HAS NOW CLOSED

Walk, run or cycle this nine-mile route along paved paths through the stunning Wiltshire countryside, ending at Maud Heath's monument at the top of Wick Hill.

Saturday 24 March

Join over 500 fellow fundraisers and be a part of this exciting event that has been running for over 21 years. Two routes are available (two miles or five miles) and all ages are welcome.

Loughborough

Saturday 12 May

Take part in the Loughborough Christian Aid Week walks and join over one hundred walkers putting the boot into poverty. There will be the choice of two routes.

Nottingham

Saturday 12 May

This route will take in some of the city center churches, with time to look around each of them. Beginning at 10am (registration from 9am) at Mansfield Road Baptist Church and finishing at St Andrews with Castle Gate, a total route of just over 3 miles.

Oadby

The Oadby walk will be taking part in Christian Aid Week 2012. More information on this walk will be arriving shortly.

South East

East Herts Christian Aid Walk

Saturday 12 May

Join this ever-popular walk for a fun family day out in the beautiful East Hertfordshire countryside. Walk any distance from 5km up to a marathon distance of 26 miles! Registration costs only £2 for adults and £1 for a child. Fancy dress is optional!

Walk the Country

Saturday 19 May

Walk the Country with Christian Aid and pace against poverty in this five, 10 or 15 mile route through the stunning Oxfordshire countryside.

Circle the City

Sunday 20 May 2012

Circle the City will celebrate its 15th year in 2012. Join 500 other walkers at this friendly, fun, family walk around the churches of the city of London.

City Guides will be on hand to provide interesting information about the churches, there'll be exhibitions about the work of Christian Aid at each church and jugglers, face painters and musicians will provide enjoyable entertainment for all ages.

Alfriston Christian Aid Sponsored Walk

Saturday 19 May

A beautiful walk around St Andrew’s Parish boundary in East Sussex. The route follows, in-part, the stunning South Downs Way.

A guide will be on-hand to tell walkers about the interesting historical and archaeological features en-route. Walkers can join in for all 12 miles, or just walk a 4 mile section.

Meopham Sponsored Country Walk 

Saturday 19 May

A walk along footpaths and byways through delightful Kent country scenery. Any distance from 2 to 20 miles can be walked.  Full instructions, maps and snack lunch provided. Suggested donation for non-sponsored walkers £10.

North

Halifax Long March

Easter Sunday 8 April 10pm – Monday 9 April 9am 

Planned, organised, promoted and run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers the Long March has so far raised over £360,000 and is still going strong. Taking place on Easter Sunday the Long March takes place at night and follows a secret route around Calderdales roads.

Sheffield May Day Trek

May Day Bank Holiday Monday – 7 May 10am             

The Sheffield May Day Trek offers a choice of three routes through the spectacular countryside on the edge of the Peak District in the Bolsterstone area.

Since it began more than 30 years ago it has raised many thousands of pounds to help some of the poorest communities in the world.

Humber Bridge Cross

Saturday 12 May

A classic there-and-back-again sponsored walk across this iconic landmark. Walk from either side of the Humber and cross the bridge as many times as you can.


Bedes Way Walk

Saturday 6 October

Celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the North East on this historic trail. Choose the full-day 12-mile route or the all-age 4-mile walk. Walk in solidarity with over 100,000 poor people from across India as they complete their historic March for Justice to claim their land rights.
