Join Christian Aid for a charity walk in England and help us fight poverty step by step.

Our sponsored walks have raised more than £153,000 in a year for our work. Hundreds of people walked thousands of miles between them to fight poverty. Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to raising this fantastic total which will make a significant impact to communities living in poverty.

London walks

Circle the City London 2015

Join hundreds of walkers on our Circle the City sponsored walk, as we celebrate 70 years of Christian Aid Week on Sunday 17 May.

This family-friendly event will be a fantastic day packed with activities, challenges, pop-up exhibitions, musical performances, guided tours and many more adventures along the way!

North East England walks

Bede’s Way Walk

Bede’s Way Walk follows the footsteps of seventh century pilgrims, between St Paul’s in Jarrow and St Peter’s in Wearmouth.

There are plenty of opportunities to talk, and take in the beautiful views on the way.

The route: It's approximately 12 miles and walkers are well looked-after on their way, in groups each with a guide. As this is a day out for all ages, we also offer a shorter route for those unable to walk 12 miles.

North West England walks

Walk against Want

A great day out for families and walkers of all ages. There are plenty of opportunities to talk, and take in the beautiful views on the way. Choice of three routes (three, six and eight miles) and option to carry water to reflect on the lives of the world’s poor – choose your level of challenge and your way to complete it. Scooter and buggy-friendly routes. Four-legged friends welcome.

Isle of Man - Walk for Wood

Join our sponsored walk from Braddan Bridge to support Christian Aid project Cookstoves for Mali.

The 10-mile walk takes us from Douglas to Peel - we'll pick up pieces of wood along the way and carry them to Peel beach, where local celebrities will take part in a special assault course!

South East England walks

Christian Aid Sponsored Challenge - East Herts

Walk or run a marathon! This sponsored event is split into five sections ranging from 5 to 11km, so you can choose the distance you want by combining stages, or opt to do a full marathon of 26.2 miles.

Heathfield Sponsored Walk

This sponsored walk takes place along the Cuckoo trail. The beautiful, scenic countryside route follows the old railway track.

The route: Starting from Heathfield and walking a few miles to Horam and back again.

South West England walks 

Saints Way Walk

Over the weekend of 18 and 19 April, we will be walking the Saints' Way in solidarity with the world’s poor.

Date: Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 April 2015

The route: On Saturday, we'll walk from Padstow to Lanivet, stopping for lunch at Withiel Church. And on Sunday we'll leave Lanivet and head to Fowey, calling at Milltown for a well-earned lunch break. The full route covers 27 miles - do as little or as much as you like.

Chippenham's Walk Against Want

Step out on our nine mile sponsored walk with a difference.

Date: Saturday 18 April 2015
Time: 9.30am

Get involved as a family or with friends. Choose your level of challenge and your way to complete it. Be assured of support from Christian Aid volunteers at the halfway mark or by phone.

There is no registration fee. Instead, we're holding a buffet lunch available from 12 noon at 22 The Common, Langley Burrell. Book your lunch by Saturday 11 April. Cost £5 – all profits to Christian Aid.

Bournemouth and Poole Sponsored Walk

Annual sponsored walk along the seafront.

Date: Saturday 9 May 2015

The route: The maximum distance is 12 miles (that's from Shore Road to Southbourne and back), but you can start and finish at any checkpoint (Shore Road, Branksome, Bournemouth Pier, Boscombe Pier and Southbourne).

West Midlands walks

The North Staffs Walk – 25th anniversary
