Ethical Expo 08

07 April 2008

Ethical Expo 08 is an exciting, new, free event taking place in Bristol between 9-10 May, highlighting how our consumer power can effect dramatic changes in the world.

Ethical Expo is about asking the right questions about the things we buy - where was it made, who made it? - and using the power that lies in our pockets and wallets to make a difference.

Buying right

More than 10,000 visitors are expected over the two days, with talks and activities covering everything from reducing poverty through fair trade, to challenging climate change by buying green.

Christian Aid has been involved in Ethical Expo from the start, and its supporters have been key in stimulating the purchase of Fairtrade goods in recent years. Read more about Fairtrade and trade justice

Ethical Expo aims to build on that momentum by highlighting not only Fairtrade products, but the broad spectrum of options that are there for you to become more ethical with your purchases.

Bring the family

Christian Aid’s own Global Gang will be there, running an area for children and families to interact, play and learn about how young people’s lifestyles vary around the world.

Christian Aid will also be running a mass paper-bag-athon on the Saturday morning for you and your family to find out if they could survive living on the streets of India.

Ethical Expo takes place in Castle Park, in the centre of Bristol, from 9–10 May 2008, and will be open from 10am to 6pm. Entrance is free.
