Christian Aid Week 2015

10-16 May 2015

Christian Aid Week is the single biggest act of Christian witness in Britain and Ireland.

For thousands of people throughout the country, it's a way of answering Jesus’s call to help people in need, and showing the community just how much good the church is doing in the world.

Loko's story

A woman in Ethiopia gathers firewood

Loko walks alone for eight hours a day to gather and sell firewood so she can feed her children.

Your local Christian Aid office would love to hear from you. They can provide information, ideas and resources – such as volunteer speakers, bunting, balloons and films - to help you make the week a huge success!

‭There are plenty of ways your church can get involved this Christian Aid Week:‬
  • House-to-house collections raise almost £9m across the UK every year. Asking people to deliver and collect Christian Aid Week envelopes is the perfect opportunity to get your church out into your community while demonstrating God’s heart for the poor.‬
  • Turn fun into funds: whether it’s a sponsored walk, a BBQ or a cake sale, we’ve got plenty of ideas to bring people together and have fun while raising money for our work!‬
  • Christian Aid Sunday service and collection: why not dedicate your service on Sunday 10 or 17 May to learning what the Bible says about poverty and justice – and to supporting Christian Aid Week? Films, prayers, sermon notes and Sunday school activities are all available to download now.‬
