The Caribbean might bask in 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, but it sees its fair share of storm clouds too. And according to the UN climate change panel, the storms are only going to get worse.

In Honduras, Manuel finishes work on his chicken coop on stilts (in the background). When Hurricane Dean struck Jamaica in 2007, hurricane-proof coops saved hundreds of birds – and many poultry farmers’ livelihoods.
