Did you know that for every $10 given in aid to the developing world, $15 slips out through tax dodging?
The situation is stark and urgent.
Christian Aid estimates that tax dodging by some unscrupulous companies costs poor countries $160 billion a year. This is money that should be being spent on essential services such as schools and hospitals.
This is completely unjust as the rich get richer at the expense of the poor.
Christian Aid believes the key to tackling tax dodging is greater financial transparency which would mean tax dodgers would have nowhere to hide. For this to happen we need to push governments and large companies alike to act. Your support is crucial if this is to happen.
In 2012 our Tax Justice Bus Tour saw us travelling across Britain and Ireland to bring people together and build the movement for tax justice across churches, communities and even politicians.
We want to build on this growing momentum and see changes in policies which will tackle tax dodging.
