Strong financial management is a critical factor in the ability of the Africa Division to deliver transformational programmes. With a £21 million budget, the divisional budget is the largest in Christian Aid. The management of this budget is delegated from the Head of Division to 20 managers based in offices across Africa and within the UK.
For this management structure to remain effective there is a need for strong finance coordination at the divisional level to assist both the Head of Division and the Country Managers in their management reporting, planning and coordination.
As part of this, you will contribute by leading the annual budgeting process within the Africa division preparing regular summary reports of the key financial controls for the Head of Africa.
To process monthly financial returns received from country offices and assist with staff training, recruitment and induction

You will be able to manage and prioritise a wide range of duties, both complex and routine in nature, working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You will be part of the International Finance Team based in London and will enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues across the many country offices in the Africa division.
We value the contribution each and every one of our people makes to the success of our organisation. That’s why you can expect a wide range of rewards and benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, a season ticket loan, and flexibility that will ensure you enjoy a good work/life balance.
As this post is UK based, non-EC nationals will require current and valid permission to work in the UK, as the Department of Employment will only issue work permits in exceptional circumstances and for limited periods only.
