Overview

Christian Aid receives funding from the UK Government, Scottish Government, Irish Government, European Commission, USAID, Irish Aid and other key partners, which enables us to make a bigger, more lasting difference in more people’s lives than we could otherwise do.

In 2012/13, 41% of Christian Aid’s income came from institutional donors, and these funds were spent on advancing our humanitarian and development work across the world. The current value of our institutional and other donor programmes includes:

UK Aid logoUK Government: Total grant contracts of £43m in more than 30 countries for health, wealth creation, resilient livelihoods and human rights projects.

  

A woman addressing a crowd in Democratic Republic of CongoService contracts : we are managing three voice and accountability programmes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Sierra Leone for donors including the UK Government, European Commission and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. The total value of these contracts is £56.5m.

 

EU logoEuropean Commission : The EU is funding 33 programmes through EuropeAid and ECHO with a value of €26 million.

   

Irish Aid logoIrish Aid: Christian Aid Ireland currently receives €12.2 million over four years from the Irish Government for human rights and governance work in seven countries.

  

Scottish government logoScottish Government: four active projects, total value £1.6m. Focus on empowerment in health and livelihoods, inclusive economic development, food production and maternal and child health.

 

Comic Relief logoComic Relief: three active projects, total value £2.35m. HIV and malaria focus.

  

 

US Aid logoUSAID: one active project, total value £415,000. Focus on security.
