Back to Africa

Five years later, Suranne returned to Africa with Christian Aid, this time accompanied by close friend Sally Lindsay, best known for her work in Phoenix Nights and Coronation Street.

They saw projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo designed to improve people's lives after the civil war, helping orphans and young women left without employment prospects to build a future for themselves.

Their trip was covered by Hello! magazine, The Daily Record, Women's Own, Loose Women and GMTV, among others.
