Coronation Street and EastEnders actress Jill Halfpenny visited India to see our work with dalit communities, as well as recovery work after the 2004 tsunami.
She said, 'Everything I saw on my trip to India was towards a long term goal - helping people to help themselves.
'Christian Aid's work is inspiring in the sense that it enables families in the world's poorest communities to improve their own lives.'
Jill told the News of the World magazine, Hello, GMTV and the Newcastle Chronicle about the experience for Christian Aid Week 2005.
