Thanks to you, we got the lot!
The government has announced that it accepts all of Christian Aid’s campaign demands for the Climate Change Bill.
It has declared its commitment to cutting UK carbon emissions by 80% by 2050.
It will ensure British companies are required by law to report their emissions.
And along with the government's stated commitment to making measurable year-on-year progress towards its targets, we’ve won everything we asked for.
It’s a truly massive victory for everyone who has campaigned with us since March 2007.
Thank you so much – for your emails, letters and postcards, your meetings with MPs, the rallies you attended and the miles you marched to bring home the message that climate change, and those in developing countries who are hit hardest by its impacts, deserve our most urgent attention.
You made the difference and showed the power of campaigning.
The climate bill is now much more effective than when it was announced last spring.
But progress at home will count for little if we don’t have effective global action.
Now, following Copenhagen's failure to deliver a fair and binding deal for the world’s poorest people, we need to keep up the pressure for climate justice.
