IHG stepping forward

By Alasdair Roxburgh | 27 May 2011

First of all, apologies - I'm aware that we have been a little slow to update you on the progress we are making with the four companies our Trace the Tax campaign focuses on.

'We are working with Christian Aid to better understand how business can support their initiative.'

Over the past few weeks we've been working with the companies to try and make really substantive progress on them coming out in support of our calls for greater financial transparency to help end tax dodging.

Today we took another small step in the right direction, when IHG made the following statement:

'IHG supports international tax transparency and we are working with Christian Aid to better understand how business can support their initiative.  We're exploring how IHG can work with them on the broader area of poverty alleviation with collaboration on programmes we already have in place.'

This progress is down to you. Your postcards, emails and local stunts have helped show IHG just how important the issue of tax dodging is in the developing world.
