Thank you to everyone who made a submission to the government's mandatory reporting consultation. The consultation has now closed and we're waiting for the government to make its decision.
This consultation is a key milestone for everyone involved with our climate justice campaign.
Mandatory reporting would be a major step towards reducing the 12-15% of global carbon emissions UK-listed companies are responsible for.
We've made a strong case for government action:
more than 1,300 Christian Aid supporters directly submitted to the consultation online
and more than 60,000 of you have written to the relevant ministers over the last four years, calling for mandatory reporting.
What next?
We'll be in touch with everyone who's fed into the consultation when the government announces its decision, but in the meantime I'd encourage you to register for our inspiring day of action and prayer in Manchester on October 1.
Bearing Witness day of action and prayer
On the eve of the Conservative Party conference, hundreds of Christian Aid supporters will stand together in solidarity with the world's poor and challenge our government to live up to its promise to be the greenest ever.
Register now We'd love to see you there.
