Bella’s getting involved in Hunger for Justice

4 July 2014

Hi, I’m Bella. I’m currently studying at university and volunteering with Christian Aid over the summer.

Bella I’m really excited to be part of their campaigning work and to join the global movement to tackle climate change.

For me, the biggest injustice of climate change is that it directly affects those who have done the least to cause it.

Solidarity

In developing countries, a warming of even two degrees is predicted to ruin harvests around the world and leave around 30 million more people hungry.

If we work together, we can stop this prediction becoming a reality and protect the world that we love.

This is why I have decided to stand alongside those affected by our changing climate and demonstrate that we are hungry for justice.

Get involved

I’m helping to organise events for the Hunger for Justice Weekend this October.

This is an opportunity for churches around the country to speak out together for a cleaner, safer future. I encourage you to get involved too.

You can start today by contacting your MP and urging their party to act on climate change.

You can ask your church to get involved in the Hunger for Justice Weekend on 18-19 October

Together we can demonstrate that we’re willing to take a million steps towards a safer and brighter future.

Hope

The coming year holds enormous potential for positive changes to be made in public policy addressing climate change - with events such as the United Nations Summit in September and the UK General Elections approaching.

By taking part in the Hunger for Justice weekend and making small changes in our own lives, we can show those in power not only that we want change but also that it is possible.

I look forward to meeting some of you and hearing about all your amazing actions!
