Ed Davey MP responds to your climate campaign messages

10 January 2014 | by Clare Fussell

Edward Davey MP This week Ed Davey, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, formally responded to the hundreds of messages he had received from Christian Aid campaigners during the UN climate talks in November.

'We must act'

In his response, Mr Davey says that 'climate change... is arguably the greatest challenge facing the world today. It is a global issue that affects everyone on the planet.

'The findings in the recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Working Group One report are clear: warming of the climate system over the last century is unequivocal... we must act.'

Thank you for taking action.

His response addresses in detail all of the things that you campaigners asked him to do to ensure ambitious UK action on climate change.

It also reports on the UK’s humanitarian work in the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan, so it’s well worth a read.
